About Rodney E. Williams Jr.

As the dynamics of today’s real estate market are constantly changing, it helps to have a professional who knows the area and has the expertise to help you make the right decision when it comes to your most important asset.

I have spent my entire career in real estate.  My father was a zoning attorney who invested in land and income property which exposed me to different facets of the industry at a young age.  I found the field very exciting and after graduating from Benedictine High School in 1989, I obtained my Real Estate Salesperson License at the age of 18.  I began selling houses and buying 'fixer-uppers' on a full-time basis after receiving a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College in 1993.  I obtained my Real Estate Broker and Class A Contractor licenses in 1999 and started building new homes and developing subdivisions by the age of 30.

From 2000-2005, I was the Preferred Contractor and one of two Preferred Brokers for Interfaith Housing Corporation, the largest non-profit housing agency in the Mid-Atlantic region at the time.  In 2006, I successfully closed the largest land transaction, based on number of lots sold, in the Central Virginia region as was noted in the Integra Realty Resources report.  I was the Principal Broker of my own firm from 2007-2013, where I focused on representing my construction company, Emerald Builders, LLC, (DBA - EB Homes) in its land acquisitions and new home sales.

This extensive background has given me a solid foundation and exposed me to different techniques and strategies.  My experience in buying and selling properties has positioned me to better advise my clients.  I have sold every type of residential property from low-income housing to high-end luxury homes, historic properties to new construction, individual lots to large tracts of land throughout Richmond and the surrounding counties.  I have worked through various market trends:  from the sluggish markets of the early 1990’s, the exploding markets of the early 2000’s, to the downturn and market recovery that we are now seeing.

I joined Long and Foster because of its name recognition and strong presence in our local market.  It is the largest real estate company in the region and largest independent residential company in the United States.  I chose the Innsbrook office because it is the top selling office among all Long and Foster locations in the Richmond area. Their proven track record of success, combined with my unique skills and knowledge from over 20 years of experience as a Realtor, builder, and developer enables me to bring the highest level of service to my buyers and sellers.

So when you are in the market to buy or sell a home, I would welcome the opportunity to be your Realtor!
